Lead vessel repair or pot mend. Cast plug mending a vessel wall of thickness 8mm, and retaining crumbs of a whitish fabric or cement. The pouring of lead is visible where it has solidified on one side of the object. The fabric, if that is what it is - spots of similar material also appear away from the edges of the plug - might suggest a Roman date. Suggested date: possibly Roman, 43-410.
Length: 47.1mm, Width: 32.2mm, Thickness: 12.4mm, Weight: 92.19gms.
