Incomplete Medieval tinned copper alloy strap end consisting of socket, waist and the remains of a 'lyre-shaped' openwork main part. On the front of the socket the sacred monogram ihc in black-letter is picked out by engraved lines on a field of rocker-arm engraving, to be viewed with the main part pointing downwards. Two iron rivets are driven through the top of the inscription. A complete medieval cast copper-alloy harness stud (c. 1270-c. 1400).
This stud, possibly heraldic, is quatrefoil in plan. The head is slightly domed and the underside is flat. A central corroded spike on the underside is sub-oval in cross-section but may have originally been circular in cross-section. At the front the design is in the form of a butterfly (or moth) with prominent features consisting of outstretched wings, thorax and abdomen with antennae. The surrounding cell is partially filled with decayed material which may be the remains of enamel.

A post-medieval lead-alloy piece of casting waste: a 'header' produced during the making of shot for a small calibre gun.The base is sub-rectangular in shape with five circular connected knops - small round protubances, all c. 4.0mm high, along the centre. The small gaps of c. 3.5mm (av.) between the knops indicates the smallness of the shot being made.

An incomplete copper-alloy asymmetrical double looped strap fitting of Medieval date. It is missing the pin.
One loop is rectangular and the other is D-shaped. They are separated by an integrally cast rectangular bar. The outer edge is expanded and zoomorphic in the form a stylised animal head, possibly a dog. The long ears are defined by transverse grooves and are laid back along the sides of the frame. There are two opposing diagonal grooves to represent the eyes. The frame then narrows to define the muzzle with a groove beneath the represent the mouth.

Medieval sheet copper alloy "shield-shaped" strap end with a bar-mount, of arched section and with four facets on the outer face, attached by one rivet. There is a second rivet at the other end. Both are fitted with square sheet roves. Two pairs of opposed lateral rounded notches have produced an exceptional and far from shield-shaped outline. Probably for use with a folding strap clasp (Egan and Pritchard 1991, 116 and 156-8). Length 19.5mm. Width 9.7mm. Bar-mount 4.8 x 9mm. c.1300 - c.1450.

Iron rondel dagger that has a wide rectangular cross section blade that is 27mm wide at the quillon (guard) and gradually narrows to the pointed tip which is now truncated. The quillon is a slightly dished iron disc that because of corrosion is truncated on two sides. Behind the quillon the tang in is a thick iron bar that would normally be in cased in a wooden handle. The pommel is a round and slightly dished plate.

A fragment of Roman ceramic tile with Procuratorial stamp dating from AD 80-120. The Inscription was made with wooden stamp, the grain of which is clearly visible. The fragment of tegula has the impression of a stamp that when complete, would have read P.PR.BR within an ansate frame, this is a type 2485.9 stamp, a similar tile is depicted in Collingwood (1993:38 ii). Only four letters of the stamp, 'PR.BR' remain. The full stamp would have read P(rocuratores) PR(ovinciae) BR(itanniae). A Medieval silver cut halfpenny which has been adapted by the deliberate removal of the central image. The resulting 'C-shaped' piece was probably used as a jewellery setting, most likely within an open-frame brooch. The remaining obverse legend displays evidence of having been filed.
Coin details: cut halfpenny of Henry II (1154 - 1189). Voided short-cross coinage, Classes 1a or 1b, minted 1180 - 1185; moneyer: Turkil (York).

Medieval copper alloy spur buckle. The frame is trapezoidal with a very shallow pin notch. The integral plate is of a most unusual form. From the pin hole, which is filled the remains of an iron pin, it expands past a rivet and two pairs of lateral lobes to the trilobed outside edge. There is a square sheet rove on the rivet. Length 33mm. Width 18.6mm. 13th - 14th century.
