A fragment of Roman ceramic tile with Procuratorial stamp dating from AD 80-120. The Inscription was made with wooden stamp, the grain of which is clearly visible. The fragment of tegula has the impression of a stamp that when complete, would have read P.PR.BR within an ansate frame, this is a type 2485.9 stamp, a similar tile is depicted in Collingwood (1993:38 ii). Only four letters of the stamp, 'PR.BR' remain. The full stamp would have read P(rocuratores) PR(ovinciae) BR(itanniae). A Post Medieval copper-alloy buckle frame fragment of a sub-rectangular shoe or knee buckle (c. AD 1720 to AD 1790). The fragment represents the corner of the buckle frame i.e. one outer edge and a small portion of the side of the frame. The buckle frame is convex at the front and is flat at on the reverse.The outer edge is stepped towards the middle surface.The front of the frame has a moulded floral decoration. The surface has a light green patina and bears traces of gilding in some places.

A Post Medieval to Modern iron shoe patten. The patten is oval in plan and has an integral projection at each long end. Both projections rise upwards and then span outwards at 90 degrees. This type of patten probably dates from AD 1720 onwards (see below). In some remote and rural areas, pattens were in use until the 20th century. Goodall, I (1973:63) comments that the single and double riveted raised terminals were characteristic of pattens. The "rivets passed through a wooden patten or sole. Post-Medieval asymmetrical copper alloy shoe buckle. The spindle, pin, and most of the anchor chape have survived. The exterior face of the frame has been decorated with scrolling, and corner knops at the chape end. The anchor chape is missing its terminal knop and is asymmetric. Iron rondel dagger that has a wide rectangular cross section blade that is 27mm wide at the quillon (guard) and gradually narrows to the pointed tip which is now truncated. The quillon is a slightly dished iron disc that because of corrosion is truncated on two sides. Behind the quillon the tang in is a thick iron bar that would normally be in cased in a wooden handle. Medieval to post-medieval copper alloy probable weight, discoidal with three drilled holes. A blind hole and concentric marks on one face indicate that the object was lathe-turned. It has been cut down from a larger weight, as shown by file marks around the edge and by the fact that the blind hole is set slightly off-centre. Diameter 12.3 - 12.6mm. Thickness 2.1mm. Diameter of drilled holes 2mm. Weight 1.84g / 28.4 grains. One dram (27.3 grains / 1/16th of an avoirdupois ounce) was probably intended. Cf. NMS-147E15. Late 15th - 17th century.

A fragment of a copper-alloy unidentified object of possible Roman date. The artefact is broadly rectangular in plan and rectangular in cross section. The artefact narrows from the old break (4.8mm wide and 4.4mm thick) to 5.6mm wide and 1.8mm thick at the incomplete tip. Hammer marks are visible along both edges and the artefact has been bent slightly. The artefact is 31.55mm in length, 5.3mm wide, 5.05mm thick and weighs 3.93 grams.
