A cast lead-alloy cap from a post-medieval powder measure (c. 17th century). It has straight sides, now squashed inwards and together, with an oval top (also slightly squashed and distorted). Where the sides meet the top there were two attachment loops, one on each side, now lost to breaks. The object measures 18.5mm in height, 21.0 by 9.9 mm at the top and 29.6 by 3.1mm at the base. The sides are 1.3mm in thickness and it weighs 12.92g. The powder cap is the most common find from Civil War sites, forming the cap to the powder holder or flask. The caps were suspended from a band…

A fragment of a copper-alloy unidentified object of possible Roman date. The fragment is from an artefact which would have been broadly circular in plan and the fragment is rectangular in cross section. The fragment is decorated with five circumferential bands, each of which shows evidence of tinning. The inner curved edge is irregular and appears to be damaged, the outer edge curved edge is complete. The artefact has been bent upwards slightly. The reverse is undecorated. The artefact is 46.3mm in length, 34.65mm wide, 1.35mm thick and weighs 8.29 grams.

Medieval sheet copper alloy "shield-shaped" strap end with a bar-mount, of arched section and with four facets on the outer face, attached by one rivet. There is a second rivet at the other end. Both are fitted with square sheet roves. Two pairs of opposed lateral rounded notches have produced an exceptional and far from shield-shaped outline. Probably for use with a folding strap clasp (Egan and Pritchard 1991, 116 and 156-8). Length 19.5mm. Width 9.7mm. Bar-mount 4.8 x 9mm. c.1300 - c.1450.

Fragment of Roman tinned copper alloy D-sectioned penannular bracelet, from the break the width and thickness increases slightly through the transversely grooved terminal to an enlarged almost onion-shaped terminal. A more elaborate version of Crummy 1983 no. 1717. Internal diameter c.60mm. Width and thickness at the break 5.5 and 4mm, at the terminal 8mm and 9mm. 3rd - 4th century.

Medieval copper alloy spur buckle. The frame is trapezoidal with a very shallow pin notch. The integral plate is of a most unusual form. From the pin hole, which is filled the remains of an iron pin, it expands past a rivet and two pairs of lateral lobes to the trilobed outside edge. There is a square sheet rove on the rivet. Length 33mm. Width 18.6mm. 13th - 14th century.

Rim sherd from a Medieval cooking pot, 13th to 14th century. The rim is outflaring and dished on the upper face to provide a seating for a lid with a turned out and rounded upper edge and a distinct carination on the inner side at the junction with the body. The fabric is reduced mig-grey with oxidised outer face and particularly heavily tempered with poorly sorted angular chert and limestone and sub-rounded red sandstone up to 3.5mm across. The sherd is abraded. The sherd weighs 17.29g, and is 9.8mm thick. Too little survives to estimate the vessel diameter.
