Gilded cast copper alloy mount fragment dating from the medieval period, that is c. AD1200-1500. The mount is extremely worn with a reddish-brown surface and only some of the gilding remains in the crevices. There may have been four small round rivets; two of them appear to still be in place. The design is not clear: what remains is possibly floral or the long tail of a lion or, alternative, a curvy capital letter S.
