Two adjoining copper-alloy sheet metal buckle plates of medieval date, c.1200-1400 . Both plates are sub-rectangular but are unequal in size. At the frame end, two projecting tabs flank a pin slot. The plates are held together by four copper-alloy rivets with circular heads, and there is a fifth hole from which the rivet is missing. The plate has an olive green patina. Length of plate:28.47 mm. Width:17.61 mm. Thickness: 1.99 mm Weight: 4.195 grams.

An incomplete cast copper alloy double loop buckle, dating from the late Medieval-Post Medieval period (c. 1350-1650 AD). The buckle frame has one oval loop with flat back and bevelled outer sides on the front; the other loop is incomplete . The strap bar is narrowed, possibly worn by the pin which is made of sheet copper. It is 51.79 mm long, 47.23 mm wide, 4.31 mm thick and weighs 13.9 grams. Whitehead 2003,p 53, No.294 illustrates a similar but more decorated example which he dates to c. 1350-1650 AD.

An incomplete copper alloy buckle plate of Medieval date. This is comprised of two plates which are rectangular in plan which would have been riveted together and attached to a single loop buckle. The larger plate has five rivet holes although there is a worn break at one end where the last two rivet holes where. It has an engraved linear border and has traces of gilt decoration surviving. An incomplete copper-alloy buckle frame of Medieval date. It is as Meols type 8, with oval frame offset and narrowed rectangular bar, and expanded outer edge that has four evenly spaced projecting lobes. Most of the bar is missing due to old breaks. It measures 24.77mm in width, 18.07mm in length, 3.33mm in thickness and 2.40g in weight. This buckle frame is of Medieval date, c.14th century AD (as Egan and Pritchard, 1991: nos. 292, 318).

An incomplete copper alloy buckle of Post-Medieval date (AD 1575 - 1700). The object is a double loop asymmetrical buckle. It has a sub-square moulding with a cross-hatch design on the outer edge of the rounded loop. The pin no longer remains. The buckle has a mid-brown, black patina. it is 19.77mm long, 18.9mm wide, 1.69mm thick and weighs 4.7g. Simialr examples are found in Whitehead p.90, no.560 but it differs slightly due to the square moulding on the outer loop. These are dated to circa AD 1575 - 1700.

An incomplete copper alloy buckle of Post-Medieval date (AD 1660 - 1720). The object is a sub-annular 'shoe' or 'knee' buckle with drilled frames for separate spindles. It is decorated with transverse grooves on the surface of the frame with a moulded scroll decoration at either end of the strap bar and four plain moulded decorations at equi-distance to each other. Copper alloy buckle. Cast rectangular double looped buckle frame with lightly bevelled edges on its display face. Rust here may suggest an iron pin has been lost after the buckle had been lost or discarded, possibly suggesting a use with horse harness. The frame is lightly bent outwards from its central bar, and one corner is heavily worn. Suggested date: probably Post-Medieval, 1500-1600. Length: 31.8mm, Height: 31.2mm, Thickness: 2.4mm, Weight: 7.12gms.

The bar is central and trapezoidal in section. This buckle frame measures 22.21mm in length, 17.77mm in width, 2.56mm in thickness, 2.52g in weight. There are similar examples from London (Egan and Prichard, 1991, p. 83, no. 337, 339).

The frame is D-shaped in section with a rosette on the outer edges and expanded lobes at the junctions of the bar and frame. The bar is narrowed and triangular in section. This buckle frame measures 43.90mm in length, 24.99mm in width, 3.61mm in thickness, 10.05g in weight. There is a similar example from Norwich (Margeson, 1993, p.31, fig 174).
