A cast copper alloy buckle dating to the Post-Medieval period, c.1550-1650. The object is a double looped oval buckle. At either end of the object and each end of the strap bar is a quatrefoil moulded decoration. The strap bar is narrowed and corroded. The pin is missing. The rear of the object is flat and undecorated. The object has a dark brown patina. A similar example which can be found in Whitehead, (2003), p65 is no.403.

At either end of the object is a sexfoil moulded decoration while a quatrefoil moulding decorates either end of the strap bar. The strap bar is narrowed. The pin is missing. The rear of the object is flat and undecorated. The object has a dark green patina. A similar example which can be found in Whitehead, (2003), p65 is no.403.

The object is dark brown to gold in colour however has been over cleaned. A similar example which can be found in Whitehead (2003), p87, is no.540.

The top of the musket ball has been shaped into a sub-lozenge shape which the finder suggests represents a coffin. The object has a mid-grey patina and is in good condition.

A cast lead alloy spindle whorl dating from the Roman to the Post-Medieval period, (AD43-1800). The object is circular in plan and oval in cross-section. It has a large regular central circular perforation with an internal diameter of 8.25mm. One face is decorated with a multi-pointed starburst pattern which is worn. Between the points of the star occasional pellets are visible. The opposite face is decorated with a series of worn linear mouldings radiating outwards from the perforation. It has a central circular perforation with an internal diameter of 8.23mm. The upper face is decorated with a moulded four point star. The lower face is undecorated. The object has a light white patina. Similar examples of spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although the majority are typically dated broadly to the Medieval period c.1100-1500.

The object is circular in plan and biconical with a central circular perforation with an internal diameter of 6.99mm. Each face is decorated with moulded lines in the form of a star. Three raised pellets decorate the void between each point of the star while a single pellet decorates the object within each point of the star. Copper alloy strap-end, probably early-medieval to medieval in date (c AD 1050-1250). The buckle has a rectangular frame with a knop protrusion at one end and a bar strap at the other with rounded ends. The frame has a set of four openwork holes and two small pellets. The object is quite worn and some original decoration may have been lost. It has a dark brown patina. This object was printed in The Searcher magazine for November 2001 on p. 13; the date of discovery was ameded to reflect this.
