Roman silver denarius of Faustina I (the Elder), dating to the period AD 141 to 161 (Reece Period 7). Reverse type AETERNITAS depicting a female figure, possibly Providentia, standing left, left hand holding a globe and with veil blown out behind. Mint of Rome. Cf. RIC III (Antoninus), 351. The diameter is 18mm and the weight 2.86g. Obverse inscription is DIVA FAVSTINA. Reverse inscription is AETE R NITAS. It appears to be uncertain whether the figure with globe and veil on the reverse is Aeternitas or Providentia. There is a tendancy to favour the latter because of the globe
