An almost complete and misshapen post-Medieval cast-lead powder measure cap used for measuring a charge of gunpowder (c. 1600-c. 1700). Courtney 1988: 2, fig. 3). Both ends are oval and the closed end has a raised ring-and-dot motif at the centre. It is trapezoidal in side view. The sides flare from the closed end towards the rim. One loop is missing. There is a casting seam on each longer side and one seam has a sprue scar. This measure has a buff patina. A small portion of the rim is missing. Height: 18.6mm; width: 25.6mm; thickness: 16.5mm. A clipped post-medieval silver shilling of James I (1603-1625). Uncertain coinage (North 2072-2073, 2099-2101, 2124-2125). Initial mark: unclear, dating to 1603-1625. Mint of London (Tower). North (1975, 121-124). This coin has been heavily clipped inside of its inner bead circle, so the legends have been removed. The obverse is very worn with only the XII denomination and the crown showing. The reverse is worn with only the outline of the shield and the bottom two quarters showing. The maximum diameter is 20.5mm, it is 0.7mm thick, and weighs 2.10g.

It has suffered one main loss and a smaller circumferential loss as a result of old damage; around 80% of the flan remains.

Tertiary flake of heavily patinated Langdale tuff, utilised as a chopping or scraping tool between the mid Neolithic to mid Bronze Age. The definite working is confined to the distal end. This consists of two groups of retouch. The first is invasive, scaled, and low angled. The second is short, sub- parallel, low angled, and may represent an attempt to sharpen the implement. It is difficult to account for the differences in patination on the artefact. The most likely explanation is that the older patina was gained in a different location and subsequently brought to the find spot. Date…

A Post Medieval complete cast unifaced circular lead alloy token, dating from c. AD 1550-1800. Powell Type 2. The token is decorated on the obverse side with the initials in capitals HH with III W above. The reverse is blank. The token is 19.59 mm in diameter, 0.98 mm thick and weighs 2.1 grams. Lead tokens with simple designs are very easy to make and continued in use for a long period; those with initials are generally thought to date to the Post Medieval period (1550-1800 AD).
