An incomplete copper alloy book fitting of post-medieval date. It is a flat fitting with a central oval section flanked by rectangular sections with central vertical engraved lines. At one end the fitting then terminates in an old break. At the other end is a rectagular projection which bends under the object. Both faces are undecorated.

It is in the form of an acorn with pointed oval shaped plate that is slightly concave on the back face and convex on the front face.The front face has the remains of moulded decoration comprising double transverse grooves at its centre delineating acorn and acorn cup, the remainder of the decoration obscured by post-depositional corrosion and wear. A broken and now incomplete post-medieval mount, probably a strap-fitting, with a pair of integral prongs. The mount is sub-rectangular in form with trefoilate short ends decorated in openwork. Most of one of the openwork ends has been broken off at its junction with the main rectangular plate, with the vestiges bent under the plate to one side; there is a small stub at the other side. A post-medieval lead cloth seal. The seal comprises two circular discs, one larger than the other. These would have been joined by a short arm of lead, but this is now missing. An incomplete cast copper alloy rectangular buckle of the post-medieval period. The buckle has slightly bevelled edges to its frame, which has rounded corners and an integral strap bar. The pin is missing. The upper surface of the buckle is decorated with punched annulates and swirls, most of which retain the gilding that would have decorated the whole face of the buckle. The reverse is plain and undecorated. This style of buckle dates to c. AD 1600-1680.

Around the outer edge of the tag are three small sewing loops that would have secured this hook in place on a garment. Copper alloy cuff link dating from the 17th or early 18th century. What survives is the die stamped disc with a bevelled edge and hollow back which retains a grey-buff material, probably a fixative. The attachment loop on the reverse is missing. The front bears a crown over two hearts against a cross-hatched ground.
