Copper alloy with gilding and enamel heraldic stud. Cast mount comprising a flat-based plate with higher central part with an integrally cast rivet of 5.5mm square which now projects c.13mm - its tip is lost - from the middle of the back. An heraldic motif comprises a central heater shield flanked by tripartite spigs of foliage. The shield has a red (gules) ground with a central chevron pointing upwards, with either three smaller chevrons or other motifs with pointed tops above and below the larger. Copper alloy with enamel mount. Cast symmetrical mount comprising a central hexagonal plate flanked by opposed elongated collared lugs, each with a drilled attachment hole of diameter 3mm. The plate bears the device of three cinquefoil florets springing from a small tapered receptacle against a parti-coloured enamel ground, mid blue to the right and [now] green to the left. The object is now gently curved. The decorative use of enamel was especially characteristic of 13th-century Limoges work, while the three flowers could allude to the Holy Trinity. Copper alloy jetton. Hammered French Jetton, probably issue of c.1475-1500; Barnard (1981, French jettons no. 52) cites a comparable obverse minted in Paris dated to 1488. Obverse description: Lozenge with Arms of France Ancient [four lis], a pellet between each side and the circumferential legend, which is possibly punctuated by crowns. Obverse inscription: SEA[---]ISCE[---]A[--] Reverse description: Cross fleury with lis at the end of each arm, a crown in each angle. Punctuation of crowns. Reverse inscription: VIVA [----]I Diameter: 27.8mm, Weight: 3.80gms.
