An incomplete and corroded post-Medieval copper-alloy and gilded anthropomorphic mount (1600-1700).
The mount is broadly pear-shaped in plan (pointed end at the bottom) with a finial at the top and a three-pointed splayed terminal at the bottom. Moulded decoration at the front is in the form of a plain border enclosing a human mask. The mask has a severe expression and has a distinctive fringe. The rear face is plain and slightly concave and has two integral spikes along the longitudinal centre-line, one at each end. These spikes are incomplete and only the stubs survive.
