Copper alloy with enamel mount. Cast symmetrical mount comprising a central hexagonal plate flanked by opposed elongated collared lugs, each with a drilled attachment hole of diameter 3mm. Copper alloy vessel fragment. Concavo-convex naturalistically modelled paw of a lion, with a circular lug with drilled hole of diameter 3mm for attachment to a small bowl, serving as one of its feet. The light construction of the piece, with detail retained as a negative impression on the hollow back, suggests this may be from a decorative item of tableware in Neo-Classical style. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1750-1850. Length: 22.2mm, Width: 15.9mm, Thickness: 1.5mm, Weight: 3.13gms
