A complete and worn post-Medieval silver sixpence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), minted at London. Initial mark: pheon, dated 1564 on coin (North 1991: 134, ref: 1997). Obverse: ELIZABETH:D.G.ANG.FR.ET.HI.REGINA; Crowned bust left with a rose behind the head Reverse: POSVI/DEV.AD/IVTORE/M:MEV. (I have made God my Helper); Square shield on long cross fourchée dividing the inscription with date of 1564 above shield Diameter: 25.4mm. Weight: 2.94g. DA=12:3. North, J.J. 1991.
