Greenstone polished axe, reworked into waisted form. Polished Group 6 axehead fragment comprising a crescentic cutting edge and c.30mm of the original sides of the axe meeting its ends. Beyond this point, pecking has transformed a probable originally oval form of lentoid section by forming a marked waist or in-swing. This might have facilitated a tied fastening, though its security was perhaps compromised by loss or damage to the butt end, which is probably truncated and certainly fractured.
