Post Medieval copper alloy double-looped oval buckle with an iron pin and separate strap-plate. The loops form one continuous oval outer frame and the outer sides of the loops are slightly widened. The outer edge is rounded and the inner edge and back flat and plain. The integral strap bar is plain. The iron pin is highly corroded but remains in situ. The strap plate is formed of a thin rectangular strip of copper alloy sheet bent in half around the central bar. A cast copper alloy, single loop buckle with an integral plate, dating from about AD 1250 - 1400. It has an oval frame with a broad outer edge and a pointed knop at each end of the strap bar. The plate is narrow, tapering to a point, and is decorated with two transverse ridges flanking a bulbous area. There is a single rivet hole containing the remains of a copper alloy rivet, and a circular perforation for the pin below the strap bar. The pin is missing. Copper alloy double oval buckle frame with missing pin and narrowed triangular-section strap bar. The outside edge of each loop is scalloped forming seven foils defined by deep transverse grooves, with slightly shallower transverse grooves between. There is a very slight trace of possible gilding on the upper surface. The reverse face of the buckle is plain and flat and the frame is now slightly angled. Whitehead dates buckles of this type to circa 1450-1600 AD.

A complete single loop kidney shaped buckle frame and pin, of Late Medieval dating (AD 1450 to AD 1550). The buckle frame and pin are present, the strap plate is missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The buckle frame is kidney shaped with a triangular knop at the centre point, acting as a pin rest. The loops of the buckle frame has been decorated.
