Pottery rim sherd. Sandy oxidised fabric rim fragment, from an open vessel with an everted squared rim. A trace of glaze appears under the rim, suggesting the vessel was splash glazed. Lead cloth seal. Pair of cast discs linked by sprue and clamped together. One side bears the motif of a bishop's mitre within a tressure with trefoils or lis on its cusps. The other side bears a W (or possibly M) with an annulet on either side within a pelleted circle. Patinated overall. The mitre was among the badges associated with the German city of Augsburg, noted for its fustian cloths. An early post-medieval date is suggested by the letter style. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1600. Length: 30.5mm, Diameter (discs): 20.0mm, Thickness: 4.6mm, Weight: 11.74gms.

Copper alloy scoop from a seed drill. Cast hemispherical spoon on the narrower end of a slightly tapered round-section stem. The stem is stepped towards the other end, for insertion into a rotating drum. This class of object is frequently reported, and variously misidentified, often as an apothecary spoon or cosmetic implement. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900. Copper alloy jetton. Hammered French Jetton, probably issue of c.1475-1500; Barnard (1981, French jettons no. 52) cites a comparable obverse minted in Paris dated to 1488. Obverse description: Lozenge with Arms of France Ancient [four lis], a pellet between each side and the circumferential legend, which is possibly punctuated by crowns. Obverse inscription: SEA[---]ISCE[---]A[--] Reverse description: Cross fleury with lis at the end of each arm, a crown in each angle. Punctuation of crowns. Copper alloy with enamel mount. Cast symmetrical mount comprising a central hexagonal plate flanked by opposed elongated collared lugs, each with a drilled attachment hole of diameter 3mm. The plate bears the device of three cinquefoil florets springing from a small tapered receptacle against a parti-coloured enamel ground, mid blue to the right and [now] green to the left. The object is now gently curved. The decorative use of enamel was especially characteristic of 13th-century Limoges work, while the three flowers could allude to the Holy Trinity. A fragment comprising a single support from a cast copper alloy chafing dish of 15th-16th century date and a small part of the dish rim. The support is rectangular in plan with straight sides. In profile it is angled up and out from the rim at 45 degrees with an angled lower side, vertical outer side and an upper side which is angled at first then becomes concave towards the outer edge. At the inner end of the support is a small part of the dish rim which appears to be vertical with a thin raised line running around the inner side.
