Copper alloy Seed Drill Spoon. Cast hemispherical spoon on the narrower end of a slightly tapered round section stem. The stem is stepped towards the other end, for insertion into a rotating drum. This class of object is frequently reported, and variously misidentified, often as an apothecary spoon or cosmetic implement. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900. Length: 50.3mm, Diameter (bowl): 8.1mm, Thickness (stem): 6.9mm, Weight: 9.07gms.
