County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Lead Cloth Seal. Pair of cast discs linked by sprue and clamped together. One side bears the motif of a bishop's mitre within a tressure with trefoils or lis on its cusps. Copper alloy with enamel Mount. Cast symmetrical mount comprising a central hexagonal plate flanked by opposed elongated collared lugs, each with a drilled attachment hole of diameter 3mm. The plate bears the device of three cinquefoil florets springing from a small tapered receptacle against a parti-coloured enamel ground, mid blue to the right and [now] green to the left.
