Late Saxon copper alloy bit link with oval loop incomplete through wear. The form and the nature of the wear are very similar to a slightly larger example from Brockham, Surrey (Williams 2007, fig. 5). There is no verdigris, all surfaces being shiny and pinkish. Extant length 48.5mm. Width of knobbed loop 22mm. 11th century.
