An incomplete copper alloy trumpet brooch of Roman date. The head is sub-circular with a hinge pin mechanism on the reverse flanked by rectangular attachment lugs. The pin proper no longer remains. The centre of the head extends and curves sharply into a U-shaped circular sectioned bow which tapers to a break. Near the head of the brooch is a circular acanthus moulding flanked by a circular collar. About 50% of the cathchplate remains and it extends slightly over the break. The head of the brooch is comprised of narrow rectangular wings which appear undecorated and it has a very small sub-rectangular projection from the top of the head of the brooch. A central lug is present on the reverse of the head through which a bar is loosely fitted where two of the coils from the spring mechanism survive. The wings taper to an ovate-sectioned bow which terminates to a break roughly halfway down. An incomplete copper alloy sword belt hanger of Post-medieval date (AD 1600-1700). The object consists of an asymmetrical, curvlinear attachment plate with a trilobed outer knop. The other end has been lost to an old worn break. The main plate has a moulded relief floriate and foliate decoration and bears two rivet holes - one in the centre of the plate and the second at the remaining terminal end. TREASURE CASE : 2014 T218. A possible silver finger-ring with decorated bezel. There appears to be some form of lettering on the shoulders of the finger-ring. There are the remains of niello inlay on the decoration of the bezel. Conclusion: This finger-ring has been shown to the relevant curators at the British Museum who have been unable to recognise it and therefore have been unable to assign it to any culture or period. An incomplete copper alloy strap fitting of Post-Medieval date. The strap fitting is sub-triangular in plan with an openwork design which consists of a small, circular aperture with a subtriangular aperture below and it terminates into a trilobed knop. The other end has a small, rectangular projection which would have extended into a recurving hook but this no longer survives. A fragment of a Roman plate brooch of unusual form. The brooch would have consisted of a cross with elaborate bifuricated terminals with a central knop which extend from a slightly expanded central section with a raised broadly pyramidal knopped projection in the centre. Three of the elaborate terminals are missing, the surviving terminal is incomplete due to an old break. The reverse of the brooch is flat and undecorated, two lugs are visible on the surviving terminal, the right lug is slightly damaged.
