A complete, worn and possibly clipped Medieval silver penny of Edward II (1307-1327), minted at Bury St Edmunds. Probably class 11a1, 1310-1311 (North 1991: 36, ref: 1060/1). Obverse: EDWA[ ]DNS hYB; Crowned bust facing with a bifoliate crown and wedged drapery Reverse: VILL/SCIE/DNV/NDI; Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant Diameter: 16.9mm. Weight: 0.91g. DA=12:9. North, J.J. 1991. English Hammered Coinage, Volume II, Edward I to Charles II, 1272-1662. Spink & Son, London.
