Copper alloy brooch. Cast dragonesque brooch, Mackreth type DRAG 3.ax.Cast S shaped concavo-convex plate brooch with a cast pin wrapped around the 'neck'. The 'head' has a prominent oval lug adjacent to a bowl shaped hollow which may have held a separate stud. The body has decoration comprising a longitudinally divided pair of pointed ended cells, and is overlain by a central quatrefoil; these features appear apt to retain enamel though no colorant now remains. A cast copper alloy Roman brooch, dating from AD 100 - 400. It is a variant of the knee brooch type with a plate like head (the edges are broken so the original shape in unknown), a short bow and a fantail foot. Head, bow and foot are all of rectangular section. There is no decoration. On the underside of the head are two semi-circular lugs. These are pierced to take the pin bar. The remains of a ferrous pin bar can be seen in both of the lugs; the pin and bar itself is missing. Incomplete Late Saxon tin-coated copper alloy disc brooch depicting a backward-turning beast. About half of the edge is missing. Tinning survives patchily on the front face. Set within a circle of pellets, the beast, with all four legs three-toed, turns to regard its upturned tail. Its eye is indicated by a punched ring-and-dot. On the reverse the incomplete pin lug lies parallel with the edge but the catchplate is missing. Diameter 27.5mm. 10th century. An incomplete copper alloy item difficult to identify possibly dating 300BC to 410AD. It is possibly the bow from an early Iron Age brooch, part of a terret ring or mount. The fragment is long, tapering and curving in different directions and the apex and terminal at which points it is also broken. Similar to SF-70C8C7, and YORYM-017E93on the database. The length is 28mm, the width is 10mm thickness 4mm and the weight 4.07g.

Incomplete Early Saxon copper alloy Small-long brooch of Leeds 1945 cross pattee derivative type. The upper angles between the arms are round holes while the lower are notches. A pair of parallel engraved grooves marks the end of each arm. At the top and the base of the D-sectioned bow a rectangular panel forms facets. Both are decorated with a pair of transverse grooves. Middle Saxon to Late Saxon copper alloy openwork disc brooch of "cogwheel" type with eighteen teeth around the border. On the reverse a single pin lug with some staining from the missing iron pin and an incomplete catchplate are both set parallel with the edge. A concavity lies behind the central boss. This is of a well-known type of Continental origin, with one example found in a context of c.800 at Everswinkel, Germany (Youngs, S. in Wallis 2004, 40, fig. 35, SF 390).
