An incomplete copper alloy spherical / domed button, of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (15th to 16th Centuries AD). The button can be described in two parts: the head and the shank. The shank is incomplete, with the suspension hole broken. The head is circular in plan and D shaped in cross section. The shank is sub rectangular in plan and rectangular / flat in cross section. An incomplete copper alloy English jetton, of the Sterling type (Berry type 1) dating to between c. AD 1280 and c. AD 1340. The obverse depicts a forward facing crowned bust. The obverse legend is missing. The reverse depicts a long cross with six pellets in each quarter. A circular punch mark is present in the centre of the reverse. The reverse legend is missing.
