Iron staple. Wrought Iron U-shaped staple, with a residual point at one end of one arm. The object generally enjoys unusually good survival which indicates that the section of the object was rounded, though where corrosion has caused flakes of iron to spall away it might be mistaken for a squared section. This object was probably discarded attached to a substantial timber. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1800. Length: 105mm, Width: 87mm, Diameter: 10.7mm, Weight: 80.18gms.

An incomplete copper-alloy candlestick of Post-Medieval date. Only a fragment of the socket survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn. The socket is cylindrical in shape measuring 21.01mm in external diameter. The front face is decorated with two circumferential grooves around its middle and a similar, single, groove around its base. A Post Medieval iron ring from a foot patten dating from about AD 1720 - 1900. The patten component has an oval ring of rectangular section, a raised platform at the heel where there is a trapezoidal attachment plate with two rivet holes and one iron rivet surviving, and a raised "cooking pot" shped attachment plate at the toe containing the remains of a single rivet and with a broken projection at the front. A circular, cast lead alloy weight of uncertain date, but probably Medieval or post-Medieval, about AD 1400 - 1800. It is in the shape of a shallow dome with a convex upper side and a flat base. It is possible that there is a design of three lions passant on the upper side, with only the upper of the three lions being discernable, but extensive patinated damage and wear makes this uncertain. Iron file. Wrought iron whittle tanged tool of rectangular section, tapering towards a blunt or broken end at one end, and a pyramidal terminal to its tang at the other. The object is shouldered where it meets the tang, which presumably engaged a wooden handle. Faint traces of diagonal grooves on the four flat faces suggest the identification offered. A broken and incomplete post-medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame with trapezoidal loops. Only one loop remains, with only a small section of one of the sides remaining from the other. The edge round the top of the watch face is missing, revealing the two pieces that form the watch and the hollow inside. A lead alloy impacted pistol ball of post-Medieval date, AD 1600 - 1850. The ball has been fired and has struck a solid object as it is now a in the shape of a flattened disc with a slightly thicker centre. It is characteristic of balls that have struck a hard flat rough surface at high velocity and can be compared to examples in Harding (2012, Lead Short of the English Civil war: a Radical Study, plate 25). The leading face displays a pattern of radiating striations. It has a light grey patina. In its current configuration it is 25mm long, 22.9mm wide and 3.4mm thick. It weighs 9.76gm.

A probably Post-Medieval (1600-1900) copper alloy hollow spherical probable button, probably a two-piece construction although the surface of the metal is so pitted the join is not discernable. Two perforations, close to each other, are probably for a separate wire shank. One of these perforations (2.5mm diameter) is at the centre of an oval depression, c.10x4mm. The other perforation measures 2.4mm diameter. The metal is now a dark green in colour and between the pitting, it has a shiny patination. Measures 15.01mm in diameter and weighs 4.76g.

a copper alloy shoe buckle with a maker's mark reading: "W / (W)OT(F)" on the chape. It dates from about AD 1690 - 1720. The frame is rectangular in plan and curved in profile. It is drilled for a separate iron spindle upon which is the copper alloy pin and stud chape. The stud from the chape is mssing, but was a separate piece rather than being integral. The maker's mark is stamped onto the chape. The buckle has a smooth grey shiny patina. Compare number 663 on page 103 of Whitehead's Buckles. This appears to be the first example of this maker on the database.

A copper alloy single looped rectangular buckle dating from AD 1500 - 1650. The frame has an expanded outer edge decorated with a groove along the outmost edge. The sides are half round in section and baluster shaped. The sides project beyond the bar to form lobed feet. An iron pin survives wrapped round the bar. The frame has a smooth dark green patina. Compare number 152 on page 28 of Whitehead's Buckles.
