Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Lincolnshire

A copper alloy unidentified object, perhaps a hook, probably of Post Medieval to Modern date, but possibly Early Medieval. It consists of a length of circular sectioned wire, nearly 60mm long. At one end it is bent into a loop. At the other end it is pointed and sharp. Several bends in the length of the shank make it's original shape impossible to determine. The object has a smooth dark brown patina, missing in places. Its function remains uncertain. It may have been a hook, perhaps to fasten into fabric, or possibly a pick type of toilet article or a pin.

Object type: RAZOR
Broad period: ROMAN
County: North Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Copper alloy possible razor. Sub-triangular blade with a straight flat back and a blade now tapering to a point, possibly because of recurrent sharpening. Towards the other end of the blade it now narrows, though this is possibly the result of damage in antiquity; it has a straight and possibly original end here.
