A slightly clipped medieval silver penny of Richard II (1377-1399). Type 1b or local dies Group A (possibly North 1329b or 1330a), possibly muled with Type 1a. Initial mark: unclear, dating to c. 1387-1396. Mint of York. North (1975, 49). The coin measures 18.6 mm in diameter, 0.62 mm in thickness and weighs 1.02 g. It is difficult to distinguish clipping from somewhat off centre striking, especially on the obverse.

Middle Saxon to Late Saxon copper alloy openwork disc brooch of "cogwheel" type with eighteen teeth around the border. On the reverse a single pin lug with some staining from the missing iron pin and an incomplete catchplate are both set parallel with the edge. A concavity lies behind the central boss. This is of a well-known type of Continental origin, with one example found in a context of c.800 at Everswinkel, Germany (Youngs, S. in Wallis 2004, 40, fig. 35, SF 390). The coins vary in condition from extremely fine to poor, with many antoniniani being covered with copper corrosion. A Medieval or early Medieval copper alloy cross. The cross has four arms, the lower one of which is extended. Each arm tapers outwards slightly forming a trapezoidal shape. It has no obvious decoration and the upper arm appears to be damaged suggesting that it may have had a suspension loop here. A copper alloy lace tag of probably Post Medieval date. It is a cone of sheet copper alloy, 6.2mm in diameter at the open end and tapering to a rounded blunt point. The terminal end is decorated with a globular collar decorated with four circumferential grooves. There are two opposing rivet holes near the open end, and the cone has cracks running across the holes. Instead of a lace tag, this object could also be part of a small brush or the terminal of a slender wooden object such as a pen. Compare WILT-71AAE6 and SWYOR-B1FFB4.
