Incomplete ring-headed Late Iron Age to early Roman linch pin 100BC - 100AD. The loop is circular in plan and section. A bulbous collar is present projecting from one edge of the fitting with a worn base. The centralsection is iron which is now corroded and it terminates in a copper alloy lip-type. The length is 137mm, width is 24mm thickness 14mm, the width of the loop is 37mm, the hole is 20mm, and the weight 163.85g. Similar on the database to YORYM-72DC52 and BERK-6F69D7.

Copper alloy brooch. Cast dragonesque brooch, Mackreth type DRAG 3.ax.Cast S shaped concavo-convex plate brooch with a cast pin wrapped around the 'neck'. The 'head' has a prominent oval lug adjacent to a bowl shaped hollow which may have held a separate stud. The body has decoration comprising a longitudinally divided pair of pointed ended cells, and is overlain by a central quatrefoil; these features appear apt to retain enamel though no colorant now remains. Cast U-shaped plate with a cutting edge which runs along one long edge and continuing along the short straight side; the other long side and the U shaped end are flattened. The section is of extremely flattened lentoid form, a point which is only apparent if it is viewed against a straight edge.This object was initially considered as a sword blade fragment, but it lacks any convincing strengthening of the middle part of the blade, and a single sided form would be unusual for a rapier. Copper alloy spearhead fragment. Cast blade of a spearhead of ogival section with a pronounced mid rib extending almost to the extreme tip (which is lost). The object is broken as the blade narrows to approach a socket (lost), where it is already of hollow construction. The cutting edges of the blade are abraded, more so on one side than the other, and probably relatively recently. Suggested date: Middle to Late Bronze Age, 1600-800 BC. Length: 78.7mm, Width: 18.7mm, Thickness (mid rib): 8.2mm, Thickness (at break near socket): 1.9mm, Weight: 21.81gms.

Copper alloy trumpet brooch dating to the late 1st to 2nd Century AD. Incomplete but with swivelling wire chain loop and fully developed acanthus inserted in a tubular bronze axis bar. In addition to the acanthus, decoration is applied to the loop clip, foot knop snd the upper and lower mid-bow flanges, all of which are finely knurled. A cast copper alloy Roman brooch, dating from AD 100 - 400. It is a variant of the knee brooch type with a plate like head (the edges are broken so the original shape in unknown), a short bow and a fantail foot. Head, bow and foot are all of rectangular section. There is no decoration. On the underside of the head are two semi-circular lugs. These are pierced to take the pin bar. A fragment of a rowel spur probably dating from the Post Medieval period, probably the 17th century. It consists of two sections of a divided, copper alloy neck and a rowel of six points.The outer ends of the neck are pierced to take a copper alloy pin on which the rowel is mounted; this pin remains in place. The outer sides of the neck are decorated with shallow, diagonal grooves which give the effect of twisted wire (barley twist). A copper alloy probable spangle of Early Medieval date. It consists of a sheet which is 1.15mm thick, broken on almost all sides. There is an incised line along the edge of the surviving original edge. The plate is decorated with a row of four raised blobs which are hollow on the reverse and look to have been raised by hammering (repousse). Two are along the complete edge, but two appear to curve away form the edge though they are truncated by a break. The metal has a grey brown patina with some brassy colour on the front. Compare number 48.6 on page 245 of McGregor and Bolick.

A copper alloy mount or stud, probably of Post Medieval to Modern date, but possibly Early Medieval. It consists of a circular sheet which is 0.5mm thick, decorated with three wide grooves crossing the the centre so forming a star. A central copper alloy rivet attaches the stud to a smaller, circular copper alloy rove or back plate. The space between the front and back plates suggest that the object was attached to something that was about 1.5 - 2mm thick. The metal has a smooth dark green patina.

A copper alloy unidentified object, perhaps a hook, probably of Post Medieval to Modern date, but possibly Early Medieval. It consists of a length of circular sectioned wire, nearly 60mm long. At one end it is bent into a loop. At the other end it is pointed and sharp. Several bends in the length of the shank make it's original shape impossible to determine. The object has a smooth dark brown patina, missing in places. Its function remains uncertain. It may have been a hook, perhaps to fasten into fabric, or possibly a pick type of toilet article or a pin.

A fragment of a copper alloy Post Medieval or Modern probable finger ring. The ring is made from a strip of copper alloy which is 4.67mm wide and 0.88mm thick. Only 18mm survives in length and it is bent back on itself. The strip is decorated with a lozenge shaped design, and transverse bands of milling. It has a dark green patina. It was probably a Georgian fairground ring.

A copper alloy pin of possible Medieval date. It has a discoidal head with a convex top and a flat base. The shaft is 0.8mm in diameter and only 10mm survives. The original length is impossible to judge. The pin is similar to some in Egan and Pritchard's Dress Accessories, but an earlier or later date cannot be ruled out. The function of this pin is also unknown.
