Read Early Medieval Class A Type 1. In profile the object now exhibits a gentle reverse S curve. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 700-1100. ~~A silver-gilt early post-medieval hooked tag. The quatrefoil hooked tag consists of five raised circles (6.9mm in diameter), decorated with a quatrefoil and a raised circular pellet. One is located in the centre of the hooked tag, the remainder are located at each cardinal point to form the quatrefoil. A further raised circular pellet is located in each corner of the quatrefoil. Roman copper alloy strap-mounted terret of unusual form. The loop is slightly trapezoidal, being wider at the base than at the top. The ring, completely circular internally and externally, is deeply recessed on both faces. There is very little verdigris, the surfaces bearing for the most part the true colour of the metal. Height 54mm. Width of loop 23-5 - 24.5mm. Thickness of loop 5mm. Diameter of ring 40mm. Thickness of ring 7.5mm. c.43 - c.200 AD.

Incomplete medieval gold finger ring. An oval collet forms a bezel, the upper half with sloping, concave sides, the lower half with flat sloping sides. The narrow, broken and slightly distorted hoop is oval-sectioned, expanding slightly at the shoulders to small triangular bosses at the join between the hoop and the bezel. There is no trace of engraved decoration and the rear of the hoop is missing. When found, the collet contained a red or pink stone, presumebaly glass, which had sunk into the collect. A fragment of a post-Medieval silver-gilt finger-ring (1500-1650). Treasure case no. 2014 T219. The outer face of the plain hoop is convex and the flat inner face is inscribed: [?] CHANGE with serifed capitals. The N has a reversed bar. Gilding has survived on the inner face with small patches on the outer face. The breaks appear to be old. 25.7mm (length); 5.5mm (width); 1.0mm (thickness). Weight: 1.16g. A fragment of a copper alloy Post Medieval or Modern probable finger ring. The ring is made from a strip of copper alloy which is 4.67mm wide and 0.88mm thick. Only 18mm survives in length and it is bent back on itself. The strip is decorated with a lozenge shaped design, and transverse bands of milling. It has a dark green patina. It was probably a Georgian fairground ring.

Iron file. Wrought iron whittle tanged tool of rectangular section, tapering towards a blunt or broken end at one end, and a pyramidal terminal to its tang at the other. The object is shouldered where it meets the tang, which presumably engaged a wooden handle. Faint traces of diagonal grooves on the four flat faces suggest the identification offered. The extensive survival of metal argues a relatively recent date. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1650-1850. Length: 132.5mm, Width: 13.1mm, Thickness: 9.4mm, Weight: 52.63gms.

A Medieval or early Medieval copper alloy cross. The cross has four arms, the lower one of which is extended. Each arm tapers outwards slightly forming a trapezoidal shape. It has no obvious decoration and the upper arm appears to be damaged suggesting that it may have had a suspension loop here. Treasure case 2013 T380 (addendum to case 2012 T510). A collection of 51 Roman coins, comprising 22 silver denarii and 29 antoniniani. The coins vary in condition from extremely fine to poor, with many antoniniani being covered with copper corrosion. The coins date from the reign of Caracalla in the early third century (AD 208) through to the radiate issues of Victorinus.
