Incomplete Late Saxon tin-coated copper alloy disc brooch depicting a backward-turning beast. About half of the edge is missing. Tinning survives patchily on the front face. Set within a circle of pellets, the beast, with all four legs three-toed, turns to regard its upturned tail. Its eye is indicated by a punched ring-and-dot. On the reverse the incomplete pin lug lies parallel with the edge but the catchplate is missing. Diameter 27.5mm. 10th century. A copper alloy mount with two rivets still in place, of probable Early Medieval date. The object is rectangular in plan with bevelled edges and has two thin wire copper alloy rivets, one mostly surviving and the other almost entirely missing. It has no visible decoration. A copper alloy probable spangle of Early Medieval date. It consists of a sheet which is 1.15mm thick, broken on almost all sides. There is an incised line along the edge of the surviving original edge. The plate is decorated with a row of four raised blobs which are hollow on the reverse and look to have been raised by hammering (repousse). Two are along the complete edge, but two appear to curve away form the edge though they are truncated by a break. The metal has a grey brown patina with some brassy colour on the front. Compare number 48.6 on page 245 of McGregor and Bolick.

A cast lead alloy spindle whorl of possible Early Medieval date, about AD 500 - 600. It is conical and has a central, circular hole of 6mm diameter. It is 19.7mm in diameter and 10.4mm high. It weighs 17.6gm. The lead has a creamy white patina. Similar whorls are discussed in Walton Rogers (2007). She suggests that this shape and central holes of a diametre of 6-9mm are more likely to be 6th century in date. However, neither feature is a reliable dating technique, so a later date is also possible.

Incomplete Early Saxon copper alloy Small-long brooch of Leeds 1945 cross pattee derivative type. The upper angles between the arms are round holes while the lower are notches. A pair of parallel engraved grooves marks the end of each arm. At the top and the base of the D-sectioned bow a rectangular panel forms facets. Both are decorated with a pair of transverse grooves. Middle Saxon to Late Saxon copper alloy openwork disc brooch of "cogwheel" type with eighteen teeth around the border. On the reverse a single pin lug with some staining from the missing iron pin and an incomplete catchplate are both set parallel with the edge. A concavity lies behind the central boss. This is of a well-known type of Continental origin, with one example found in a context of c.800 at Everswinkel, Germany (Youngs, S. in Wallis 2004, 40, fig. 35, SF 390). An incomplete copper alloy terret, of Late Iron Age dating 300 BC - AD 100. Around 25% of the terret is present, the rest presumed lost in antiquity. The profile of the terret is oval in cross section and originally the object would have been D-shaped. There is decoration along the length in a La Tene style possibly a tendril. Similar to WMID-2BCB95, YORYM-4C6C21 and YORYM-C23B67 on the database. The length is 44mm, the width is 15mm thickness 7mm and the weight 8.26g.

An incomplete copper alloy item difficult to identify possibly dating 300BC to 410AD. It is possibly the bow from an early Iron Age brooch, part of a terret ring or mount. The fragment is long, tapering and curving in different directions and the apex and terminal at which points it is also broken. Similar to SF-70C8C7, and YORYM-017E93on the database. The length is 28mm, the width is 10mm thickness 4mm and the weight 4.07g.
