A probably Post-Medieval (1600-1900) copper alloy hollow spherical probable button, probably a two-piece construction although the surface of the metal is so pitted the join is not discernable. Two perforations, close to each other, are probably for a separate wire shank. One of these perforations (2.5mm diameter) is at the centre of an oval depression, c.10x4mm. The other perforation measures 2.4mm diameter.
The metal is now a dark green in colour and between the pitting, it has a shiny patination. Measures 15.01mm in diameter and weighs 4.76g.
