Cast shot, severely misshapen, perhaps in the process of firing as much by impact or subsequent damage, patinated overall, but of a mass over one averdepois ounce suggesting this may have been used for a muzzle loading firearm of military specification. This may have been part of a double shotted or multiple load. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1600-1800.

Early Medieval lead alloy spindle whorl, Diameter: 27.0mm, thickness: 16.0mm, weight: 61.31g
The whorl is circular in form and D shaped in cross section with a large circular hole through its centre. All surfaces are heavily pitted and scratched.
The whorl fits Walton Rogers form A1, which she dates to 500-1000AD.
