An incomplete copper-alloy candlestick of Post-Medieval date. Only a fragment of the socket survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn.
The socket is cylindrical in shape measuring 21.01mm in external diameter. The front face is decorated with two circumferential grooves around its middle and a similar, single, groove around its base.
This candlestick measures 28.54mm in length, 20.95mm in width, 1.73mm in thickness, 6.83g in weight.
Candlesticks of this type date to the late fifteenth to sixteenth centuries AD. There are parallels in Brownsword, 1985 (FRG Datasheet no. 1): nos. 9 and 11.

A Post Medieval iron ring from a foot patten dating from about AD 1720 - 1900. The patten component has an oval ring of rectangular section, a raised platform at the heel where there is a trapezoidal attachment plate with two rivet holes and one iron rivet surviving, and a raised "cooking pot" shped attachment plate at the toe containing the remains of a single rivet and with a broken projection at the front. A patten of this design can be seen on page 56 of Detector Finds 2 by Gordon Bailey. Compare also SUR-F987B0, DEV-9DC3B5 and SUSS-A122D3 which note that: "Goodall, I (1973:63) comments that the single- and double-riveted raised terminals were characteristic of pattens. The rivets passed through a wooden sole. Shoes were secured by straps to these pattens, which raised the wearers' feet above dirt and mud. "Pattens with iron rings were used during and after the 17th century. The earliest known reference is 1625 and the type with the crinkled edge is thought to be superseded by the plain oval hoop by c.1720." (ibid)."

An incomplete circular copper-alloy unidentified object of unknown date.
Consisting of a flat circular plate with a central circular hole. The internal face is worn in places, possibly through wear. On the back face are two parallel rectangular projections. These are 4.80mm in length, 5.56mm in width, 1.97mm in thickness. Through the centre are separate circular copper-alloy rivets, which connect the projections to the plate. On the front face where the projections connect with the plate are two parallel circular marks, which have a distinct pale green colour. These may be the remains of copper-alloy roves.
This unidentified object measures 23.03mm in external diameter, 12.04mm in internal diameter, 2.14mm in thickness, 4.29g in weight.

A circular, cast lead alloy weight of uncertain date, but probably Medieval or post-Medieval, about AD 1400 - 1800. It is in the shape of a shallow dome with a convex upper side and a flat base. It is possible that there is a design of three lions passant on the upper side, with only the upper of the three lions being discernable, but extensive patinated damage and wear makes this uncertain. There are also three parallel lines scored across the centre of the upper side. These appear to be deliberate but may have been caused by contact with farming machinery. The weight has a mass of 114.76gm (4.13 oz). It is 41.5mm wide and 11.8mm thick.

Copper alloy harness fitting or boss. Cast discoid plate with opposed lugs on the back retaining ferrous corrosion suggesting a pair of iron pins attached this object to leather. Probably from horse gear. Very worn, corroded, and distorted. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1650-1800.
Width: 32.3mm, Height: 29.3mm, Thickness: 2.6mm, Weight: 13.57gms.

A lead alloy musket ball dating from the Post Medieval period, probably the 17th century. The ball has a mass of 29.2g suggesting it may have been fired from an Arquebus or Caliver firearm. The casting seam is visible, and the sprue has been removed with nippers leaving two facets.

Iron file. Wrought iron whittle tanged tool of rectangular section, tapering towards a blunt or broken end at one end, and a pyramidal terminal to its tang at the other. The object is shouldered where it meets the tang, which presumably engaged a wooden handle. Faint traces of diagonal grooves on the four flat faces suggest the identification offered. The extensive survival of metal argues a relatively recent date. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1650-1850.
Length: 132.5mm, Width: 13.1mm, Thickness: 9.4mm, Weight: 52.63gms.
