A medieval silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307). Class 4 (North 1023-1027) dating to 1292-1297. Mint of Canterbury. North (1975, 23).
The coin measures 18.84mm in diameter, 0.64mm in thickness and weighs 1.089g. It has suffered some slight circumferential losses.
The reverse legend error is unusual (see Withers and Withers 2006, 16); this coin has duly been marked as a Find of Note.
