A complete Post Medieval cast copper alloy buckle, dating from c. AD 1660 to AD 1720. The double loop frame has a hole drilled at the top and bottom to take a seperate iron spindle, to which the chape and pin are attached. The frame moulding is of a floral design with fern fronds forming decorative pin rests at each end. The type IV anchor chape (Whitehead 2003; p 96) is undecorated on both sides. A Medieval to Post Medieval copper-alloy mount. The mount is roughly shield-shaped at the centre, tapering to a point at one end. At the opposite end is an elongated knop, which splays outwards at the end. At the back are the remains of two integral lugs, one positioned at each end. The item is worn and abraided and there are no traces of decoration or gilding visible.

The exterior surface is decorated with a series of stamped symbols, and with no apparent pattern, are spaced at irregular intervals. The shape of each stamp is of two crosses joined by a line at across the top.

A Post Medieval lead alloy musket ball dating from c. AD 1600 to 1800. The musket ball is 'banded' i.e. it is flattened in a band around the circumference. There are pronounced linear striations at right angles to the band, probably caused as the ball travelled down the gun barrel. The surface patina is a dark gray colour with some small white patches. The diameter is c.17mm.

A copper-alloy finger ring of Roman to Post Medieval date. The bezel is an elongated oval shape, narrowing at the shoulders to the thinner hoop. The hoop is oval in plan; at the end opposite the bezel, the hoop broadens to a slight point on the exterior. The finger ring is worn and abbraided and there are no traces of gilding or decoration visible. The ring is very small and was probably intended for a child.

The cross is often used in christian symbology and the cross keys are traditionally a symbol of St Peter. There is an integral rectangular suspension loop, with a sub- circular hole at the centre. There is cast curvilinear 'sun-burst' decoration on the lower hemisphere. The bell is 40mm high and 29mm wide at the centre. Approximately half of the lower hemisphere is broken and is missing. The sun-burst pattern, also often described as stylised petals, was in use on crotal bells during the 16th to 17th centuries, so this bell dates from c AD 1500 to AD 1600.

The coin is very worn; the obverse has the letters [D]G HISP visible around the circumference, but is otherwise illegible. There are traces of lettering around the circumference around the reverse and bvery feint traces of a square topped shield are visible in the centre. The coin weighs 2.4 g and measures 25mm in diameter.

The section of the pointed end is square (although the sides are now very worn giving the appearance at first that the section is circular). The other end of the object widens out into a thick square-sectioned 'handle'- preseumably used to grip the stylus whilst writing with the pointed end. The base of the grip-end isflat an roughly oval in plan. Length: 33mm; Width of base: 16mm; Length of base: 15mm; Tip of point: 4mm; Weight: 37.2g.

On one face of the coin, it is possible to see traces of a circle at the centre and there are faint traces of letters around the circumference. The other side is also very worn and it is possible to see traces of one letter, possibly the letter 'N'. It is possible that the coin could be a Post Medieval imported coin from France or Spain, for example, but as it is so worn it cannot be positively identified. The diameter is 22mm; weight: 2g.

A Post Medieval lead alloy leather worker's palm guard (possibly). The object is roughly ovoid in plan and has a convex section with a rough surface; the base is flat and has a smooth surface. The guard would have been wrapped in leather or cloth and then strapped to the hand to protect the palm when forcing needles through very coarse material, such as sail cloth. It is thought that palm guards with this shape may have been cast in oyster shells.
