Post Medieval (mid 16th to 17th centuries) dress hook: The body of the copper alloy dress hook is sub-circular in plan with a moulded high-relief central design which is possibly a bust. The body is bordered with short radiating ridges. The reverse of the body is slightly concave and undecorated. The upper edge of the body has an integral trapezoidal shaped loop which allows the dress hook to be stitched to the garment. Integral to the lower edge of the body is the hook. A complete post-Medieval cast copper-alloy hooked mount for a sword belt (c. 1500-c. 1650). The fitting consists of a domed oval plate, 15.6mm in length with a maximum width of 15.7mm. The plate is concave on the reverse. It has a terminal at one end and a hook at the opposite end. The terminal is sub-oval in plan, convex at the front and flat at the rear.
