An incomplete, cast copper alloy buckle of Post Medieval date. The artefact consists of the buckle frame, which is subrectangular and a single loop. The frame is quarter rounded on its outer face, with slightly concave sides, and single lobed knop. The strap bar is narrowed and recessed. The buckle as an evenly developed mid green patina. It measures 25.omm long by 23.8 wide, and is 3.2 mm thick. It weighs 3.22g.

Incomplete medieval copper alloy folding strap clasp, a rectangular sheet plate with one rivet and the bar of the frame within the fold. The rest of the frame and the folding end are missing. The bar is of sheet strip and is therefore from a composite frame (as Egan and Pritchard 1991, nos. 564-6). Plate 24.5 x 9.5 - 10mm (slightly narrower at the inside edge). At the centre of the top a small lozengiform patch (5 x 3mm) has been left bare. An incomplete and corroded Medieval cast copper-alloy conical seal matrix with a circular die and no inscription (c. 1200-c. 1400). The handle is hexagonal in cross-section and tapers from the die towards an incomplete suspension loop of which only stubs are present. Below the suspension loop is an indistinct collar. The die has probably been engraved and depicts a forward facing human head. The head is probably that of a Bishop or other religious figure wearing a hat in the form of a mitre and a garment with a low curving neckline. The facial features are clear and well defined…
