The wings and partial bow of a copper alloy Roman bow brooch. First century AD. The wings are enclosed around an orin pin, which holds the hinged pin in place. the pin is broken. The wings are decorated with two diagonal lines on each. The bow has a central vertical ridge and is triangular in cross section. The wings are 30mm wide and 5mm in diameter. The bow is broken after 11mm. The pin is broken after 11mm.

Late early-medieval copper alloy disc brooch with cast Borre style decoration, now almost completely indecipherable from wear but apparently comprising a central rectangular boss surrounded by interlaced knots. Most of the edge missing and worn. On the reverse the stub of a catch-plate and pin lug, one at right angles and one parallel to the edge. Measuring 19 x 24mm. Weight 3.0g. Fragment of Middle or Late Saxon Ansate brooch of Thörle's (2001) Group X C, One end with transverse rib at terminal and another with multiple notches at springing of broken stump of bow. Reverse with twin pierced lugs containing corroded fragment of iron pin. Surviving length 14mm. Width 8.5mm. 1.94g. c.725-c.900 AD.

A copper alloy strip bow brooch dating to the period AD 25 to 70. The object is made of a simple triangular sheet of copper alloy which has been folded forward to hold a hinge and pin both of which are still in place. The brooch then arches away from the head with two incised lines parallel to the edge of the brooch forming decoration. There is a double collar separating the bow from the foot and catchplate which are both still present. Bayley and Butcher (2004: 153-4) briefly discuss this type of brooch and suggest that they are British in origin and may have been influenced …

A cast copper alloy headstud brooch dating to the Roman period, c. AD 70 to 150. The head and bow of the brooch are made from one sheet of copper alloy which has been folded to create lugs for the hinge. The object has been bent so the hinge mechanism is now at the front of the brooch. There is a hole through the sheet metal to allow for the pin, part of which is still present. The sheet metal tapers away from the head and there is a large stud not far from the head.
