Fragment of medieval copper alloy swivel from a leash, two D-shaped rings, the integral shank of one rotating within the socket of the other and secured by a burred over end. The incomplete male ring has moulded stylised animal heads flanking the springing of the shank. Most of the female ring is missing. Both halves are decorated with engraved double chevrons on both faces next to the shank and around the socket. Copper alloy dagger cross-guard (quillon). The centre is expanded into a lozenge shape with a rectangular hole 13mm long by 7mm wide for the tang. On the forward edge of the guard, the short sides of the aperture are flanked by two triangular indentations which is where the blade would have sat. The arms are simple rectangular cross-section rods that have slightly expanded terminals. When viewed from the side the arms have a slight upwards curve. Date 14th-15th century.
