Gold finger ring with an expanded oval flat bezel engraved with a bird with long tail feathers. The bird is essentially made up of three engraved sections: the head, body and tail, with two linear bent legs beneath the body. The hoop is oval in profile and D-shaped in section, tapering to a more circular section at the opposite side to the bezel. A Medieval (1150-1400) copper alloy casket key with a perforated circular bow. It measures 36.93mm in length and weighs 4.34g. The stem is flattish and oval in cross-section, measuring 4.87x2.95mm below the bow. The bow measures 12.60mm in width with an internal circular perforation 5.53mm in diameter. The bit is I-shaped and projects c.7mm beyond the stem. The end of the stem is hollowed for c.1mm. Several examples of similar casket keys were found in excavations in Winchester (see Biddle 1990: 1024-1036), in layers dating from the 12th to 14th centuries.

A Late Saxon cast disc brooch with a backward-looking beast within a raised border, originally segmented but now worn smooth. Any detail on the beast (eye, mane) have also been worn smooth. On the reverse are the remains of a catch-plate positioned directly behind the beast's rear end and set at right angles to the outside edge of the brooch. The perforated pin lug which retains corroded iron from the pin is set parallel with the opposite edge of the brooch. Diameter 23mm. Weight 4.4g. 10th - 11th century.

This core, probably dates to the Mesolithic period, and possibly to the Neolithic period (-8300 to -2100).

Incomplete medieval enamelled copper-alloy Limoges-style rectangular buckle plate, broken across the twin loops formed by frame recesses and pin slot, most of loops and backplate missing. Two copper alloy rivets at the attachment edge. Surviving length 27.5mm. Width 22.5mm. 2.5mm thick. The elaborate enamelled decoration comprises a wyvern to dexter reguardant. The rather canine head of the wyvern is of purplish enamel. The body is filled with blue enamel with a border of white enamel on the lower edge. The wings of the creature contain red and green enamel and the legs red enamel.…
