Post Medieval (c. 1600 - 1800) tobacco jar handle: The lead alloy lid handle, in plan is a lozenge shape, and the handle is in the form of an eight-petalled flower with a central, circular knop projecting from a flat collar. On the reverse there is an integral sub-conical whose underside has a integral stud. The upperside has patches of a black shiny coating. It is 19.67mm long, 14.31mm wide and 16.75mm tall. Fragment of a lead-alloy (pewter) spoon of probable Post-Medieval date. Only the upper curved edge of the bowl of the spoon survives with a approximately half of stem attached. The stem is integral to the upper edge of the bowl, and is trapezoidal in section. There is no moulding on the underside where the bowl and stem meet. No marker's marks have been observed. The spoon is a mid grey colour with a well developed but corroded patina which covers all surfaces. An incomplete lead-alloy (pewter) spoon of probable Post-Medieval date. The bowl of the spoon is a sub-oval shape with abreak at the lip. The stem is integral to the upper edge of the bowl, and is trapezoidal in section with a slight flaring outwards side-to-side just above the bowl before the stem shaft narrows in. Only a short length of the stem remains.There is no moulding on the underside wherer the bowl and stem meet. No marker's marks have been observed. Complete cast lead alloy spindle whorl of probable late Medieval to Post Medieval date. The whorl is circular in plan and bi-convex in section with a central circular perforation. Both faces of the whorl are decorated with a design of incised lines and shapes with one face having a ring of outward pointing triangles around the central hole and the other face having a ring of incised diagonal grooves radiating out around the central hole. A damaged but complete medieval circular lead seal or 'papal bulla' of Pope Nicholas III (AD 1277-1280). The obverse depicts the busts of St Paul and St Peter, each within a pelleted border. On the left, St Paul's beard is portrayed as being long, straight and pointed, whilst his hair is straight and swept back. On the right, St Peter's beard and hair are shown to be curly by the use of pellets. Between the busts is a cross pattee supported on a staff. An incomplete cast lead alloy - pewter - toy cup dating to the early Post Medieval period, circa AD1600-1700. Approximately 60% of the cup survives, the rest is missing due to old breaks. The cup has also been flattened. None of the damage is new and was probably caused movement in the plough soil. The cup bowl sits on a circular, hollow stand. A Post Medieval lead alloy porringer handle, dating to the late 16th-early 17th century. The handle is a trefoil shape, flat on the back with bevelled edges.
