A complete medieval silver annular brooch. The frame is circular in section and undecorated with no restriction for the pin. The pin is intact. The brooch dates to the late 13th or early 14th century. The frame is complete, but split and bent out of shape. The pin is complete, with a very worn loop. It has a collar made up of two, possibly separately moulded serrated discs. Similar examples can be seen on the database: KENT-8DD891; LIN-0490A4, KENT-8A6D84 and SF-A578C0.

A Medieval (1200-1400) silver annular buckle frame and pin, measuring 11.91mm in length and 11.09mm in diameter (internal 7.93mm). The frame is circular in cross-section and 1.75mm in diameter. The pin is rectangular in cross-section where it curls around the frame (2.4mm wide and 0.72mm thick). Below the loop two transverse grooves head the body of the pin, which is triangular in shape, 1.26mm thick and narrowing to a point 0.73mm thick. Weighs 0.87g.

The pinhead forms approximately 8.2mm of the pin's total surviving length, and measures 6mm x 5.8mm. It is polyhedral in form, comprising a cuboid with all corners removed to form triangular facets at the top of the cuboid, and sub-lozenge-shaped facets at the bottom. The four main faces are diamond shape, each one with a depressed dot in the centre perhaps for missing glass insets. An incomplete copper alloy Colchester brooch, of Late Iron Age to Roman date (AD 25 to AD 60). Approximately 50% of the brooch is present, consisting of the bow, a wing, head, and an incomplete catch plate. The pin, the other wing and spring are missing, presumed lost in antiquity. In plan, the brooch is almost T-shaped, and D-shaped in cross section. An iron socketed spearhead, possible eel spear, of post medieval date(1600-1800). The spearhead consists of 6 prongs formed from a single sheet of iron which has been spilt into two pieces, and then made into 3 prongs. The ends of each prong have triangular points. The spear is in fairly good condition. It is a dark brown orange colour with areas of flaking and active corrosion. The spear measures 208.8mm long and 83.1mm wide and 10.1mm thick. The diameter of the socket is 21.7mm. The spearhead weighs 200 grams.
