A Modern advertising token overstruck onto a George III halfpenny or possibly a guinea token. The bust of George the III can be seen on the obverse but the reverse is overstruck with an advertisement for a local Nottingham toy and gift shop. It reads BEECROFT'S NOTTINGHAM FOR PRESENTS & CHEAP[...] with MARKET PLACE in a line across the middle. Dated 1870s to early 1926 when the shop was located in the Market Place. Beecrofts was a well-known toyshop in Nottingham.
