A post medieval silver shilling of Elizabeth I (AD1558-1603) dating AD1584/5-1587. The coin is found in North (1975, no. 2014), though with ELIZB.D.G. instead of ELIZAB.D.G. on the obverse. Much of the obverse is worn so that the bust of the Queen is unclear. There is an Escallop mintmark on the reverse which dates the coin to AD 1584-87 (North, 1975, 108) There is wear around the edge of the coin so that some of the inscription is missing.
