A post medieval copper alloy trade token farthing of Thomas Winckells, from Reading, dating AD1648-1674. The obverse depicts three stars, only two of which remain. The inscription is illegible but would have read THOMAS WINCKELLS. The reverse depicts the initials T.A.W, with stars separating the letters. The inscription reads [IN.R]EADING.BAKER. A parallel can be found in Williamson (1889, no. 126). There is damage to the edge and has been heavily worn, obscuring much of the inscription on both sides.
