An incomplete copper alloy harness fitting of late Iron Age to early Roman date. The fitting is a terret ring which is circular in plan and section. A bulbous collar is present projecting from one edge of the fitting with a worn base. The opposite side of the terret ring is broken with part of the frame having been lost to extremely worn breaks. Terret rings were used as rein guides on chariots or carts and were attached to vehicle yokes probably by leather straps. The break in the frame most probably represents the point at which the reigns rubbed on the object, wearing it down.

Incomplete medieval openwork rectangular strap fitting, probably a strap end, formed from one piece of thick copper alloy sheet. Almost all of one side is missing. The openwork depicts, within a grooved frame, a lion rampant. The rear part is extremely short, hardly projecting beyond the fold. One iron rivet survives near the attachment edge near the lion's head. Length 40.5mm. Width c.44mm. Thickness 1.5mm. Length of rear part 8.5mm. 12th century.

The object has been cast as one piece and is largely intact, with only a small portion having been lost from the end of the shaft. The head has a central 'waist', which is of circular section, flaring above and below. A moulded rim extends around the upper end of the head, flanked by a pair of shallow grooves. The solid-cast object has a circular-sectioned lower portion, the upper end of which flares into a dish with slightly damaged rim. A truncated-conical projection extends vertically upwards from the centre of this dish, with a recessed pellet at the centre of its flat upper surface. A raised collar marks the base of the head and has a square-sectioned socket at the centre of its base.

An Early Medieval mount. Cast copper alloy U-shaped mount with a gilded surface.
Oval in plan with a triangular projecting segment in the centre of one longer edge. The reverse is plain and flat with a single, central, intergrally cast rivet.
On the face, the edge is oulined by a series of punched dots. The triangular segment, representing a bird's beak, has a triangular groove, and is flanked by two ring and dot motifs representing eyes.

A Roman copper-alloy ear scoop.
The flat-sectioned body, slightly bent, is 'leaf shaped', the sides bowing outwards at the top before becoming parallel, tapering towards the bottom, where there is an oval scoop. A line of herringbone incisions extends vertically down the centre of the upper surface. The neck is located at the top and consists of a solid cylinder, separated from the body by a simple moulding. The loop has been lost in antiquity.

Incomplete medieval openwork two-piece sword scabbard chape, part of one piece only. The right-hand edge and a tall upright which would have continued the left-hand edge are missing.
