A medieval - post medieval lead alloy unifaced token. The shape of the token is irregular. The device appears to be a feather or a leaf. It comprises a central vertical element with chevron lines aligned so the verical line runs down the centre. There is a red pigment present on both sides. A base sherd of a ceramic vessel of probable Roman date, AD 43 - 410. The fabric is hard, irregular and is mid grey in colour. It has frequent white and light grey inclusions (quartz?) and some mica; it is probably a local greyware. The base would have had a diameter of 110mm. The wall meets the base at an angle of about 70 degrees. The wall has a thickness of 10.7mm. A small sub-circular hole or scar in the base may be the result of the vessel having been stacked in the kiln.

A medieval (1275-1400) buckle. A copper double looped oval shaped buckle. One loop is partially missing. The loops are undecorated, but the outer edge is obliquely angled. The intact loop expands slightly in width towards the apex. The reverse is undecorated, but is also obliquely angled on the interior edge. The strap bar is narrowed, and is triangular in section. The pin is missing. The buckle frame has a green patina. The buckle measures 22.64mm long and 16.38mm wide. It weighs 1.5g. Egan and Pritchard (2002 Dress Accessories Boydell Press) date a similar shaped buckle (No. 380)…

An incomplete copper alloy Medieval (AD c.1350-1450) single loop buckle with an integral forked spacer, missing the double sheet buckle plate, the pin and one of the spacer's prongs. Overall, it measures 27.05mm long, 20.60mm wide and 3.25mm thick. It weighs 1.99g. The frame measures 13.65mm long and 20.60mm wide. It is lipped and has a notch for the pin. The strap bar is recessed in the middle to hold the pin in place. The integral spacer is 13.55 mm long, 14.25mm wide and 1.95mm thick. It is divided in two by a gap for the pin. cf. Two wall sherds of ceramic vessels of Roman date, AD 43 - 410. The fabric is hard, irregular and is mid grey in colour. It has frequent white and light grey inclusions (quartz?) and some mica. There are three circumferential lines decorating the larger sherd which comes from the shoulder of a vessel. The sherds are probably a local greyware. Large sherd: 74.75mm long, 58mm wide and 9mm thick. 40.76g. Small sherd: 42.8mm long, 38.46mm wide and 11.76mm thick. 18.9g.

The fabric contains sparse (about 5%) dull white inclusions, possibly limestone and occasional dark grey inclusions. The rim would have had a diameter of 120mm. The wall meets the rim at an angle of about 120 degrees. The wall has a thickness of 5.13mm. The internal and external surfaces are wiped and smooth but are undecorated. The rim is folded over the edge of the vessel leaving a hollow cavity in the everted rim.
