It is D-shaped in section with an oval frame. The shoulder of the plate is decorated with two grooves with a circular pin hole. A complete copper-alloy Medieval composite strap end. This is a tongue-shaped composite strap end with a spacer probably occupying the whole width. The front and back plate are rectangular in shape and taper towards a triangular shaped knop. There are copper-alloy circular rivets at the top and bottom of the strap end. Canvas fibres from the strap still remain between the plates at the attachment end. This strap end measures 22.99mm in length, 14.31mm in width, 2.48mm in thickness, 3.25g in weight. There is a pair of parallel separate copper-alloy circular rivet holes. This mount measures 19.32mm in diameter, 5.84mm in height, 0.56mm in thickness, 1.05g in weight. There is a flanged seam line where the two halves would have originally been joined together. At the top is a separate copper-alloy loop. This is inserted upwards through a hole cut in the upper half of the body and the ends were bent outwards and then inwards, so that the loop remained rigid rather than swivelling. A complete rectangular copper-alloy strap loop of Medieval date. The attachment end has a separate central circular copper-alloy rivet with a flattened round head. Attached to the rivet is a separate flat, circular copper-alloy rove. The attachment end and two parallel sides are flat. The outer edge is D-shaped in section. This strap loop measures 14.14mm in length, 14.70mm in width, 1.68mm in thickness, 1.30g in weight. There are similar examples from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, pp. 232, no. 1248-1250).
