Upper part of the bow and head of a Late Iron Age cast copper alloy birdlip type brooch. The lower part of the bow, pin, foot and catchplate are missing. It the top of the remaining section the bow is oval with a concave back. This probably formed the trumpet shaped head with a spring held in the concave section, although the attachment is lost. The edges of this oval head are damaged, particularly around the lower edges and it may have been larger originally. A post-medieval two part cloth seal, probably from Valenciennes in France. The front disc and part of the projection survives but the back disc and tab that linked the disks are missing to old breaks. The front disc has a raised design of a basically rendered swan standing left with the inscription [...]ALLENC[...] written in Roman capitals around the left edge and towards the base. A very worn and bent post-medieval silver halfgroat of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603), Third issue, Initial mark hand, minted at London, AD 1589-1592, North 2016. A hole has been pierced towards the circumference probably through the reverse, possibly for conversion into a jewellery item. The hole is at about 11 o'clock on the obverse, corresponding to about 7 o'clock on the reverse.
