A copper alloy probable hinge component of Medieval or Post Medieval date. The object is a sheet of copper alloy which i sub-rectangular. It is broken at one end and tapers from the break to the complete end which terminates by stepping narrower and bending backwards into a loop. The plate is 1.2mm thick and there is no evidence of attachment (this was probably on the part now missing). The plate is also bent. The hinge is undecorated but has a smooth green patina. It can be compared to YORYM-0ED0B2 and SUSS-6A0E47 and may be part of a hinge from a box or casket.

A copper alloy button, mount or furniture fitting of Post Medieval date, probably dating from AD 1600 - 1700. The domed button is decorated with five punched double rings in the centre, pairs of incised lines forming a wide armed cross and a border, and punched curved lines in a variety of patterns. The reverse is hollow and an iron stub projects from the centre. The button is similar to those on page 38 of Bailey's Buttons and Fasteners (2004).

A copper alloy drawer handle or similar furniture fitting of Post Medieval date, about AD 1650 - 1900. The knop has a conical head with a domed apex. This is dceorated with three incised concentric rings. Projecting from the middle of the base is the shaft which is waisted, or baluster shape. Finally, projecting from the flat base of the baluster is a circular sectioned shaft or stem which would have fixed into the furniture item. This is 5.4mm long and 11.2mm in diameter. A crude lead alloy probable spindle whorl dating from about AD 500 - 1600. It is of Coppergate Form A1 with one flat face, straight sides and one domed (convex) face. The circular aperture is 9.7mm in diameter, but is not central, and there is no cavity in the side wall, but ther are vertical striations. The whorl has a grey patina with some dents. Form A1 spindle whorls date from the 5th century onwards (Walton Rogers, 2007, p 25).

A lead alloy Medieval spindle whorl dating from about AD 1200 - 1600. It is bi-convex with a sightly thickened mediean rim and is decorated on both faces with four raised radial ribs dividing a field of pellets. The central aperture is 10.9mm in diameter and there is no cavity in the side wall. The whorl has a cream patina with some post depositional scrapes.

A copper alloy suspension loop probably from a Roman bell dating from AD 43 - 410. The loop is a pointed arch with a circular hole through it. The base flares in all directions and is broken where the wall of the bell would have extended. A small iron projection from the centre of the base is all that remains of the ferrous hammer (clapper) that would have struck the bell. The metal has a well developed grey green patina. Compare BERK-3649A5 for a more complete example, and a published example is number 4168 on page 127 of Crummy (1981).

A lead alloy spindle whorl dating from about AD 850 - 1600. It is of Coppergate Form A1, having one flat face. The other face is convex with straoight sides between. The central aperture tapers from 12.6mm at the flat face to 9.8mm. There is no cavity in the side wall. The lead has a smooth cream coloured patina. Whorls of Form A1 were used from the 6th century onwards, but the large central hole could indicate a date range from the later Anglo-Saxon period onwards (Walton Rogers, 2007, p 25).

A lead alloy weight of Medieval, Post Medieval or Modern date, about AD 1200 - 1900. It is a sub spherical weight with a flat base (sugar loaf shaped). The base is concave in the centre and has a small rounded hole in the very centre. It has a mass of 441g which is 15 and a half oz, so was probably originally a 1lb weight. Two pieces of a late Bronze Age socketed knife dating from about 950 - 750 BC. The knife is of Thorndon type and is from the Ewart Park phase, Needham Period 7, and Burgess Metalworking Stage XII. The upper part of the blade and the lower part of the socket survive. The break between the two pieces is more recent than the other breaks.
